County Seat for Worcester County, Snow Hill is situated in the center of the County, approximately 20 miles southwest of Berlin. The town of Snow Hill was founded in 1642 by English settlers and grew to be a thriving port town on the Pocomoke River. As the importance of river transportation declined, the agricultural industry grew and remains. Snow Hill now claims to be one of the largest antique towns in the world and is home for many historic churches and National Register homes as well as historic Furnace Town, site of the Nassawango Iron Furnace, which is Maryland's only bog ore furnace still intact.
Snow Hill offers a variety of real estate from which to choose. Single family homes range from the mid $30,000's and up for fixer-uppers in as-is condition to just under $700,000 for a potential bed and breakfast opportunity. Single family residential lots range in price from the low $20,000's up to $400,000's. Farms are often available ranging from just under $150,000 to just over $900,000.
